Here at SW+A we’re thinking a little differently about employee engagement. We call our approach “Spirit of 32” and this blog series will chronicle our journey. We’ll share what we’re learning along with resources you can leverage. We’ll be your test bed so if you have ideas, please let us know.

We’ve thrown down the gauntlet here at SW+A and have challenged ourselves to take pretty damn good – to great – to downright amazing over time. I’m talking about employee engagement, great place to work, whatever catchphrase you choose.

“People are our greatest asset.” How many times have you heard that? Assets: things are assets, currency is an asset, holdings are assets but people are individuals – thinking, feeling, breathing, believing beings. I know perfectly well first-hand that we beings are more engaged at work when all those other things that are so important to our well-being are humming along harmoniously. So why wouldn’t we do all we can to help each other progress toward that goal? (Note: I didn’t say “achieve that goal” since we know it’s a journey rather than a destination).

Well, of course we would! So we dreamed up “Spirit of 32”. Seems like an odd name but it makes a ton of sense to us. See…we’re a company of 32 stellar beings and we believe that we’ll bring even more spirit to what we’re building here together if we have easy access to expert thinking and guidance in those important elements of well-being: mind, body and soul.
